Brant T. Hanson has served as Centerville's City Manager since March 2019. The City Manager is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the Mayor and City Council. As the City's Chief Administrative Officer, he is responsible for overseeing all City operations, which includes the oversight of a $23-Million budget and over 60 employees. Prior to Centerville, Brant served as the City Manager for Ephraim City, Utah, the Neighborhood Services Manager and Management Analyst for Yuma, AZ, Administrative Intern for Syracuse City, Utah, Intern for the City of Washington Terrace, Utah, Intern for Lt. Governor Herbert for the State of Utah, and served as an Intelligence Analyst in the United States Army primarily stationed in Germany.
Brant is a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and has earned its Credentialed Manager designation. Additionally, he is an active member of the Utah City/County Management Association (UCMA). In the past, he served on the ICMA’s Government Affairs and Policy Committee, Conference Planning Committee, and Conference Evaluation Committee and served on the UCMA Board.
Brant earned his Dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Political Science and History from Weber State University and his Master of Public Administration and Master of Arts, International Relations from the University of Southern California. Additionally, he has completed numerous leadership programs including the University of Virginia’s Senior Executive Institute and the Leadership ICMA, Emerging Leaders Development Program, and the Williamsburg Leadership Institute offered by ICMA. Brant is a recipient of the Early Career Leadership Award from ICMA in 2018.
Brant is originally from the Weber and Davis counties area in Utah. Brant and his wife, Amanda, are the proud parents of Andrew and Brooklyn. The family enjoys spending time together and with their large extended families and traveling.
