Municipal Code Enforcement

The Code Enforcement Division is part of the Community and Economic Development Department. It is responsible for administering and enforcing Centerville City’s municipal codes to protect public health, safety, and neighborhood quality. The division works to ensure private properties and businesses comply with adopted city ordinances related to property maintenance, land use, and community standards.

Code Enforcement addresses issues such as overgrown weeds, junk or inoperable vehicles, trash and debris on private property, signage regulations, zoning compliance, unapproved land uses, and violations related to building and development activity. The division also enforces business licensing requirements and regulations governing the keeping of chickens, rabbits, and other animals within city limits.

All requests are submitted electronically through the City’s GovWell portal.
