Get Involved with the Museum

The Whitaker is sustained through the many volunteers who donate their time, resources, and money. Each gift, large or small, carries a message of affection and commitment. Put your talents to work, make new friends, and make a difference!

Volunteer Opportunities Include, But are Not Limited to:

• Join The Whitaker Museum Board:  It is a volunteer committee appointed by and recognized by the Mayor and Centerville City; this lively group is a mainstay of The Whitaker.
• Help with Museum Events, Activities, and Programs
• Service/Eagle Scout Projects: We have an ongoing list of needs.
• Internship Opportunities: whether for academic credit or personal satisfaction, interning at The Whitaker is a rewarding experience. Internships are volunteer positions.
• Archives: Support our part-time archivist by organizing documents and photographs, transcribing, proofreading, and entering data.
• Curatorial: Help research, document, and care for The Whitaker’s collection.
• Education: Help develop and deliver programs and materials that serve teachers, students, museum tour guides and other audiences.
• Gardens & Grounds: Help maintain the 2-acre historic property.
