Founded by Bob & Chris Brown 1995-2025
How it Started: As parents of four sons, The Browns are no strangers to service projects. But it was their youngest son Jordan’s Eagle Project in 1995 that started a legacy no one expected to last three decades. Bob, a Vietnam Veteran himself, had a vision to honor every veteran in the Centerville Cemetery with a flag on Memorial Day.
The Mission: That first year, they meticulously researched obituaries and walked every row of the cemetery to identify 135 veterans. Since then, Bob and Chris have personally ensured this tradition continued. For 30 years, Bob has spent countless hours updating maps and purchasing new flags at his own expense. What started with 135 flags has grown to 524 flags honoring our fallen patriots last year. It has become a true family affair, with their children and grandchildren joining them each year to walk the rows and plant the flags.
The Impact: Bob and Chris, your hope was that your family would learn the significance of these patriots. In doing so, you’ve taught our entire community that same lesson. Thank you for your tireless devotion and for ensuring our veterans are never forgotten.
